What is this?

This is Twitstorm. It takes Twitter search results and displays them all pretty like.

What do I do with it?

Set it up at a party, concert, conference or other event thingy to keep the conversation going. Project it on a wall or big screen or tell everyone to bring it up on a web browser. It's great for keeping things interactive, showing off how much is going on and encouraging people to tweet about your event, which makes everyone who isn't there feel jealous and lame.

Configure up a channel with your favorite search terms (like your name or a hashtag) and tell all your people to tweet their pants off about your event. They have to use the name or hashtag so it shows up here. Don't forget to share the URL of your channel for extra sharing.

How does it work?

You can create your own channel by clicking on Customize and modifying the settings of whatever channel you're looking at. Then, you save it as a new channel. You'll get a URL to your channel, which you can share with the world and another private link to come back and make changes to your channel if you need to.

If you want a pretty URL instead of the junk with the numbers, enter a Channel Name. It has to be unique, and it has to start with a letter. After the first letter, you can use letters, numbers or underscores. No spaces or anything fancy. Letters are just the English ones without accents for right now.

There's a private link to edit your channel. Don't give that away. It acts as your password. If you enter an email address, we'll send you that link so you have a copy that's a little harder to lose. Don't worry, we're not gonna give it to anyone or spam you. If you do lose it, you can enter your email address on the Admin panel, and we'll send you links for all your channels.

What's up with the order of these tweets?

As long as someone is looking at a channel, Twitstorm is pulling in tweets from Twitter. Whenever a new tweet comes in, it is shown right at the top (or bottom) in the order they come in. If there are no new ones, it just cycles through the old ones to keep things moving and in case you missed any. Or you can set it to only show new ones when they come in. We save a cookie in your browser to try to remember the last tweet you saw so you can pick up where you left off.

Do my channels last forever?

Maybe. Any channel will stick around as long as someone is still viewing it. If nobody checks in on a channel for more than 90 days, it goes poof.

Who made this? Why?

I made it (Three Eyed Labs LLC). This friend of mine needed to project tweets on a wall for a party and a conference. It was super fun and worked great, so I decided to share it. This guy helped out with some CSS.

This sucks.

I know. Sorry. If you have any ideas how to make it better or if you want to contribute a new theme or report bugs, contact me.

Anything else?

Yeah. This is not at all endorsed by or related to Twitter. We don't promise, guarantee or take responsibility for anything.
